As members of Congress continue to scrutinize the Obama administration's data on job creation and stimulus spending, officials Wednesday offered some answers about the millions of dollars apparently spent in congressional districts that don't exist. It may be too late for the administration to undo the damage done to its credibility on stimulus spending, but the Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board says the errors are due to mistaken information submitted to the federal government from business

Washington lawmakers passed the stimulus bill earlier this year to create jobs across the country. Now that the stimulus bill is in effect, some lawmakers say there is either fraud or negligence involved. After half a year of rancorous debate about health-care reform, little is known about what Congress' plans might cost the states. All the health-reform bills in Congress aim to insure more Americans by expanding the Medicaid program for the poor. And because Medicaid is a shared expense of the state and federal governments, that worries Joy Johnson Wilson of the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Neither has anyone else, except for the federal agency assigned to dole out the $787 billion stimulus plan. In fact the "00" Congressional District received more than $10 million. The mythical 64th CD got $33,195 according to recovery.gov, which allows the public to "Track the Money" online.

This is unfair to the American people and certainly an abuse of the taxpayer dollars that they were entrusted to manage   -Mike Coffman
